School Committee approves new treasurer contract
Berlin-Boylston Regional School Committee hired a new district treasurer through an outside LLC.
School Committee · Meeting of September 25, 2026
Berlin-Boylston Regional School Committee hired a new district treasurer through an outside LLC. Members voted 5-0 by roll call to contract with Educational Finance Services LLC, naming Kami Lamica, a veteran school business manager who also serves as treasurer for Southern Berkshire and other small regional districts, as the district's treasurer of record. Superintendent of Schools Brent Conway said the arrangement "costs us the same amount" as the district's previous, now-vacant, treasurer position.
Member Meagan Grill said Lamica demonstrated a strong grasp of "the segregation of duties, making sure that people that are handling cash have absolutely no access to the GL." Member Elisabeth Mancini said she was "personally impressed" after sitting in on the interview. Lamica will work mostly remotely, with occasional in-person visits early on.
