Board of Assessors · Meeting of March 16, 2026
Berlin Assessors voted to revoke a nonprofit property's tax exemption after it missed a filing deadline. Chair Kevin Pond and member Roger Bradley voted unanimously to reclassify the property from a tax-exempt 900 code to taxable after the owner failed to submit their three ABCs by the March 1 deadline, despite outreach from the office. Staff assessor Linda Berisha, who reported the change, had her own appointment extended through 2029 on a unanimous board vote.
Berisha said "we've made an effort to reach out to her" before the reclassification. The board also signed off on three granted and five denied real estate abatements and noted a fiscal 2026 motor vehicle excise commitment of $606,851.67.
