BERLIN — The Berlin Cemetery Commission voted to pay April bills and advanced plans for new dog-waste signage. The three-member board voted 2-0 to cover $1,309.46 in bills and scheduled a special meeting for June 4 at 3 p.m. to review year-end spending. Chairman Barry Eager, Clerk Brenna Ewing and Robert H. Guild Jr. also discussed a solar-powered water pump shelter for South Cemetery, estimated at $4,000 to $5,000, and signage to enforce a ban on dogs after waste turned up in trash barrels.

"It's getting a little ridiculous in there," Guild said. Minutes read into the record showed a prior 3-0 vote to buy a $16,463 Walker mower from Harvard Outdoor Power, beating a rival bid by $73. The commission has $26,848 set aside for paving at North and South cemeteries.
