Cemetery Commission · Meeting of August 18, 2026
BERLIN — The Berlin Cemetery Commission approved July minutes and $607.94 in monthly bills during a brief Aug. 18 meeting. Chairman Barry Eager and member Brenna Ewing conducted business without Clerk Robert H. Guild Jr., who also serves as cemetery superintendent and was out for a medical appointment. The pair confirmed three new rule-and-hours signs are now installed at South Cemetery, with Eager noting the police chief "was very happy with the idea of signs like those" because they help officers enforce rules and "keep people out of there at night." Members also discussed funding options, including a resident's donation offer and the commission's perpetual care account, for a possible well house at North Cemetery, and noted Guild is preparing a Community Preservation Act application to repair stones at the Old Burial Ground.
