Berlin-Boylston School Committee Votes 6-0 to Hire New Superintendent

BERLIN — December 3, 2025 — Berlin-Boylston Regional School Committee unanimously selected Dr. Brent Conway as its next superintendent. The committee voted 6-0 Wednesday night to offer the position to Conway, currently assistant superintendent at Pentucket Regional School District, after interviewing three finalists in back-to-back sessions. A straw poll before the formal roll-call vote revealed all six members preferred Conway, with committee members citing his work moving Pentucket from the 25th to the 68th percentile in math performance and his record of having more than 80 percent of graduates complete a college-credit-eligible course. Conway also presented a hand-drawn heat map showing Boylston and surrounding towns lack adequate access to career-technical education programs, a gap he said he was prepared to address. Search consultant Tracy reached Conway by phone during a recess; he accepted immediately. Contract terms have not been set and are expected to be discussed at the committee's next full meeting Tuesday.
