Berlin-Boylston Sets Single-Night Superintendent Interviews After Finalist Takes Harvard Job

BERLIN — November 25, 2025 — Berlin-Boylston Regional School Committee restructures superintendent search after Harvard poaches a finalist. The committee met November 25 in a special pre-Thanksgiving session after the Harvard School Committee voted 5-0 the previous evening to offer the position to candidate Dana Lab, reducing Berlin-Boylston's finalist pool from five to three. Search consultant Tracy told the committee that Lab "genuinely appreciated" the process and wished the district well. Members informally agreed by a show of hands to hold all three finalist interviews in a single evening on December 2, with slots at 5 p.m., 6:15 p.m., and 7:30 p.m. and deliberation beginning around 8:30 p.m. The committee also developed a list of 13 or more interview question topics — covering regional district leadership, collective bargaining, special education cost management, ELA curriculum, and superintendent work-life sustainability — which Tracy will consolidate into a formal question set.
