BERLIN — The Berlin Select Board finalized its Fall Town Meeting warrant and approved a Class II dealer license for Specialty Cars at 261 Pleasant Street. Chair Lisa J. Wysocki, Vice Chair Carolyn MacDonald and Clerk Margaret "Peg" Stone voted unanimously to fund a $170,000 1870 Town Hall septic project from capital stabilization, a $19,900 Complete Streets administration contract shifted to the general fund, and $15,000 to transfer unused paving funds toward demolishing the old fire station.

Officials flagged a $247,000 fiscal 2027 budget gap, including a $27,000 fire union contract shortfall, warning residents "we already paid out a boatload of money and now you're coming back." A Finance Committee member objected that demolition costs rose "from $48,000 to $280,000." The warrant heads to voters October 19, pending Historical Commission input on a demolition-delay bylaw change.
