Select Board · Meeting of March 16, 2026

Berlin's Select Board voted 2-1 to expand Council on Aging hours despite data concerns. The board set full-time director wages at $65,000 and part-time van-driver wages at $20,000, raising the director's hours to roughly 32 a week, short of the 36 hours town meeting had funded. A board member identified only as Scott cast the dissenting vote, saying "I think I am more easily convinced that it's worth the over 36 hour a week position than I am convinced about the van." Director Melissa said "outreach is number one" among her priorities.

The board separately voted unanimously to regionalize building inspection services with three neighboring towns for $73,750 a year and adopted an updated Hazard Mitigation Plan.
