Berlin's CPA Committee weighed seeking more money for a stalled South Commons pavilion and irrigation project. Member MJ Steges warned against letting work start on "partial funding," saying the town could end up "holding the bag for a half-done project." Members said the pavilion's original $150,000 allocation, approved three years ago, "might not cover the full intent" given rising costs, and discussed filing a supplemental application rather than amending the existing one. Town Administrator Jeff Nutting told the committee a bridge project and ARPA-funded playground and fire station work, due by December 31, 2026, take priority.
Separately, the committee approved its fiscal 2026-27 meeting schedule and accepted Lexi's appointment by the Conservation Commission, both unanimously, and discussed asking the select board for a formal liaison.
