Historical Commission · Meeting of July 24, 2026

Berlin's Historical Commission reappointed June Miller as chair and Eleanor Bergen as clerk for another year in a unanimous vote Friday. The three-member board, which also includes custodian Barry Eager, discussed a phased funding strategy for the town-owned Bullard House after a call with architect Mark Pelletier, who said his firm does not take on publicly funded work. Miller said a single comprehensive funding request at Town Meeting "is a wish to happen" and that she did not want it to fail.

The commission also reviewed a draft policy from the Select Board clarifying commission, board and town administrator roles, and set an Aug. 17 tea event at 19 Carter to raise awareness of the privately owned Hop House. A CPAC report on the commission's historic clothing project is due Aug. 12.
