CPA Committee Votes to Fix Fund Error
Berlin's CPA Committee voted to correct a misposted housing fund payment.
Community Preservation Act Committee · Meeting of March 17, 2026
Berlin's CPA Committee voted to correct a misposted housing fund payment. The panel voted unanimously, 6-0, to direct the town accountant to transfer $6,966.67 from Community Preservation Act funds into the account used to pay the town's affordable housing coordinator, after the invoice was mistakenly charged to Housing Trust funds instead. Beth Storrs, representing the Berlin Municipal Affordable Housing Trust, called the funding process "extremely annoying." Administrative assistant Maureen said she is working to resume quarterly account statements for the committee.
The committee also set a virtual public hearing on its fiscal 2027 spending plan for 7:40 p.m. on April 7, and is weighing a replacement, Lexi, for outgoing member Carolyn.
